All my nailpolishes 2014: turquoise is the colour

A small look back to last week. I was in the mood for turquoise and mint. First I painted my nails in the all time favourite mint apple candy from essie. Then I tried to upcycle the mani some days later by adding a zebra look to the tips. Generally a good idea but it probably needs some more practice plus the black Colorshow nailpolish doesn’t seem to be a good polish for stamping. And then I made a turquoise abstrakt collection of nails with my p2 pool side party nail polish in 020 turquoise sky, essie’s naughty nautical and urban turquoise by Maybelline. Enough colour for now. I think then next collection of colours will be neutrals.

All my nailpolishes 2014: I want spring, I want colour

Last week started with pretty warm weather and I felt very much like spring. So for the first time in months all I wanted was some bright shiny colour on my nails. And then, when shopping, I stumbled over a very unlikely pair of nailpolishes for me. I bought the bright pink and the bright orange and paired them straight away. So what you are seeing here is p2 Beauty Rebel Edition in 030 crazy orange and Catrice Feathers & Pearly Edition inĀ  C03 Charlston’s Fame over a white base coat to make the colours pop even more. Actually I wanted to divide them with a fine white line which didn’t really work out for my left hand. So I made the line zigzagging on purpose. On the right hand the thin line worked surprisingly well. But I was told it looks a bit like dunkin donuts and thats true – a look I didn’t mean to wear… And to finish the week in brightness I went for a coral and used some of essie’s sunday funday to brighten up the rest of my week.

All my nailpolishes 2014: There is a light green

As I said in my “2014 blog resolution” I want to use every nailpolish I own at least once this year. And I started this quest last week. My nail polishes are sorted by colour on my nail polish shelf so I simply started on the left side where the collection starts with light green. So last week was a green week: Continue reading

One more christmas mani

After my christmas ornament mani I did one with little white christmas trees on red nails. But to be honest, I wasn’t satisfied. The trees on the left hand looked ok but not great and on the right hand I stopped painting trees after the first turned out to be, well, lets not talk about it. This week Idecide to keep my mani low key. I just wanted pine green nails. But the polish seems to be rather bad because even with a topcoat I had tipwear already this morning. And because I needed concealer I was in the make area at my local drug storeGreen-christmas-nails-1meaning I had to stop and check on nail polishes as I usually do. Now I promised myself Continue reading

Christmas ornament mani

I wanted to do something christmassy on my nails this year. I had stumbled over a similar design a while back and thought it was so nice. So I checked my nailpolishes, pulled out my thin brush and started painting.christmas-ornament-mani-bigFirst I painted my nails with two layers of essie in the colour limo-scene. Next I turned Continue reading

Red & Gold Ruffian Nails

Since I’m back from our holidays I’m in a mood for autumn/winter designs and a little bit more elegance. I had done Ruffian Nails in the same colour combination on my toes already and now I tried them on my nails.red-gold-ruffian-nailsDoing them it is actually quite simple. I used essie’s good as gold as a base coat and then I painted essie’s angora cardi on top, leaving Continue reading
