Last week started with pretty warm weather and I felt very much like spring. So for the first time in months all I wanted was some bright shiny colour on my nails. And then, when shopping, I stumbled over a very unlikely pair of nailpolishes for me. I bought the bright pink and the bright orange and paired them straight away. So what you are seeing here is p2 Beauty Rebel Edition in 030 crazy orange and Catrice Feathers & Pearly Edition in C03 Charlston’s Fame over a white base coat to make the colours pop even more. Actually I wanted to divide them with a fine white line which didn’t really work out for my left hand. So I made the line zigzagging on purpose. On the right hand the thin line worked surprisingly well. But I was told it looks a bit like dunkin donuts and thats true – a look I didn’t mean to wear… And to finish the week in brightness I went for a coral and used some of essie’s sunday funday to brighten up the rest of my week.
As I said in my “2014 blog resolution” I want to use every nailpolish I own at least once this year. And I started this quest last week. My nail polishes are sorted by colour on my nail polish shelf so I simply started on the left side where the collection starts with light green. So last week was a green week: Continue reading
WHAT IS IT? Home made nail stickers. I saw them at Spektor’s Nails weeks ago and always wanted to try out if this works and it does: You paint them on some foil, let them dry and then you can cut them and fixate them on your nails with a little nailpolish. Later I found this very nice tutorial which gives a good idea how to make decals that are already better fitted.WHAT IS USED? My base colour was essie’s turquoise & caicos and I accentuated them with Continue reading
WHAT IS IT? Well I’m not inspired by just one flag, but I thought I show you where I come from and did a Hello Europe mani working with all the flags that are not too difficult and easy to recreate. So I chose: of course the flag of the EU, then Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Irland, Spain, Finland and Portugal.WHAT IS USED? All are painted free hand and the colours are: Continue reading
WHAT IS IT? My inspiration for this nail art were the grey gentlemen from Michael Ende’s Momo, a quite disturbing children’s book. That left quite an imprint on me as a child. The book is very well known in Germany even though most people will only know that Momo is a girl and there are grey gentlemen, trying to catch her and that it has something to do with time. I tried to use different greys to create a suttle effect with different textures.WHAT IS USED? I now remember why I hardly ever use Catrice, 900 Steel my Heart, a semi matte metallic nailpolish in dark taupe. It has a great texture but it Continue reading
WHAT IS IT? My inspirational colour is more of a colour range: corals going neon. I did these French nails in a light taupe with coral tips before but freehand. This time I used French nail sticker to tape them off more neatly.WHAT IS USED? Misslyn’s 420, a light taupe called 5th avenue is my base colour. The polish is quite sheer so I needed three layers to get an opaque look. Next I used Continue reading
WHAT IS IT? I thougt if I do glitter then I do it right and went for four layers of a dusty rose near mauve glitter.WHAT IS USED? I used essie’s demure vix as base color. This very hard to catch shimmering mauve with a slight mocca touch is super beautiful. Then I put a layer of
