Hotel review: Liberty Hotels Lara

Once again we are in holidays in late autumn and this year we decided for Turkey. We were a week earlier than last year, last week of October, and we thought we take the risk of not that great weather and do a combination trip with one week of sun and beach and five days of exploring Istanbul. And so far it worked out fine.Liberty-Hotels-Lara-Turkey-2General information

As we booked flights and hotel separately and hence transport from and to the airport wasn’t included. We looked for something rather close to the airport so Liberty Hotels in Lara Beach, 15km from Antalya airport, sounded sensible. Continue reading

Review: Takumi Kitchen, Düsseldorf. Germany

This is a review for the Japanse restaurant Takumi Kitchen in Immermannstr. 28 in Düsseldorf and they are open everyday roughly between 11am and 10pm.Takumi Kitchen from outsideWhen I want a break from my usual day and just have an hour and not a weekend or more, I love to go to a foreign restaurant. The more it feels like being far away from home the better. One of these amazing places in this way here in Düsseldorf is Takumi Kitchen. Continue reading

Review: Cafe des Halles and Club des Halles, Brussels, Belgium

Outside Cafe des Halles BrusselsI was in Brussels over New Year’s to meet some friends. One afternoon we went exploring the city a bit and as it was quite cold outside we ended up in a place that I actually had been before and really liked: the Cafe des Halles. It is a cafe bar situated in an old market hall at Place Saint-Géry in an area with lots of bars and restaurants and very close to the  metro station “Bourse”, the stock exchange of Brussels. Hotel review: Mercure Hotel Kaiserhof, Frankfurt, Germany, 12/2012

Our Christmas Party 2012 from work took place in Frankfurt, as most of the employees work in the Frankfurt office of our agency. This meant that the people from the Dusseldorf office got a room in a hotel next to the party location. Here is the review (sorry for the pictures but I didn’t manage to take better picture with my phone).

General information

The Mercure Hotel Kaiserhof is located in the Kaiserstraße in Frankfurt. This is the main street crossing the infamous Bahnhofviertel and is a synonym for Mercure BedroomFrankfurt’s red light district even though it is not actually part of it. Close to the main station and also to the banking district, the location is not as bad as it sounds at first. Across the street from the hotel you can find bars, restaurants, a bakery and on Tuesdays and Thursdays there is even a a market on the street. And for us the location was perfect as our party location was a mere 100m away. Continue reading

At the main pool - Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian ResortWe’ve been back one week now and finally I manage to put together the review for the resort we stayed in, showing you some pictures too:

We stayed at the Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort near Marsa Alam on the Abu Dabab Bay near Marsa Alam at the Red Sea in Egypt, picking it due to good reviews and the beautiful pictures. Now, many times pictures from hotels are not really accurate but here they were. It was really good. Continue reading

REVIEW: Lonely Planet Traveller

I’ve had my fifth issue  of the Lonely Planet Magazine now, so I feel confortable to tell you how the magazine, that I got as a gift from my parents, seems to be:

First of all, the magazine has been renamed during that time (since two issues it’s not called “Magazine” but “Traveller”) and has gotten a bit bigger in size. Pictures are  from the September & August Issue next to each other. Discussed content is from the September Issue. Continue reading
