Tropical rain

Since yesterday afternoon it has been raining every now and then. This is actually quite annoying. Not that it would mean that it gets cold or because we can’t lie on the beach (a little less sun could do my skin some good for a few days).

What bugged me, is that on one hand we have quite a lot of slightly wet clothes that should be dry by tomorrow (because wet clothes don’t get better when you carry them around in your backpack, so to speak) and on the other hand we needed to walk down the 30 minutes to Thong Sala again to get our tickets to Krabi and of course we didn’t want to  do so in the rain.

So we waited for a short rain break. And it came. We managed to get down to the “city” in good weather, purchased tickets (even further than we thought as our destination will be Koh Lanta) and walked around a bit. And than it started to rain again. And how it rained. We found a relatively dry spot under the roof of some market and when after what felt like hours the rain got less, we started our way back home, only to realise it was still raining quite a bit so that we took the next possible taxi car (a Pick up with two benches and a roof) home.

Now for the first time in Thailand I’m wearing my longsleeve and can’t wait to go to the Andaman Sea side where the weather is supposed to be better.
